Declutterathon Day 21: Organize Your Recipes

And we’ve reached the final day!! Yahoo! Now what are we going to do with all our extra time? 😉 How many boxes did you take to the thrift store? I think I took about 3 boxes and I sold a few items as well.

Here’s our last task:

Organize your recipes. Maybe make a meal plan for February?

My recipe collection can always use a little help. I currently have three “systems” going on for recipe organization. A binder, cookbooks and . I’m sure there are some recipes in my binder that can be recycled as we no longer enjoy the meals. Cookbooks…I only have a few so they’ll stay. Pinterest, I have plans to add more boards so I can get more specific in the recipe type. Currently I have one board for all the main dinner recipes that interest me. So, I’d like to create a few more boards to separate them a bit. (ex: a board for chicken recipes, slow cooker recipes…and so on).

How do you organize your recipes? Do you have any great recipes to share? 🙂

Declutterathon Day 20: Purge Linens

Declutterathon Day 20: Purge Linens

Here we are. The second to final day of the Declutterathon! Can you believe it? Does your house seem lighter? I’m pretty a happy with the way our place is feeling, but I think I’ll keep tinkering on a few more areas.

I’m happy to report that our linen situation is actually in pretty good shape! I think I may have a few extras that I could purge, but other than that I’ll just do some reorganizing.

How is your linen situation?

Declutterathon Day 19: Purge Office Supplies

Declutterathon Day 19: Purge Those Office Supplies

It seems like I have office supplies scattered about the house in different bins and baskets. Included in those supplies are items that I’ve been hanging on to because I think I’ll “need it one day.” Well, I’d say it’s been over 5 years and I still haven’t used some of those things! Time to say good-bye, I think!

At our new home, I now have a desk, but my office supplies are currently scattered all about the house in different bins and drawers. Time to wrangle everything up and get it all together in one spot!

If you’re looking for some ideas on how to organize things, there might be some inspiration for you in these posts I did: Creative Ways to Use Ordinary Objects for Organizing.

Are your office supplies out of control?

Declutterathon Day 18: Organize/Clean Pantry Cupboards

In our home, I have a few cupboards and shelves devoted to pantry stuff. No official pantry, but it works for me! However, after a while, things start to get messy in those places because I tend to get a bit careless when I’m putting things away. (Mainly because I’m trying to hurry since putting things away is not one of my favourite things to do.)

I think I can do so much better with getting like items with like items. So that’s what I’ll be concentrating on today.

In case you’re looking for some inspiration on how to organize your pantry, here’s a post I did that has a bunch of links to pantry organization ideas.

What’s your pantry situation like?
